Under 14’s ease past Limavady

Desertmartin: 7-09

Limavady: 2-04

Following a lengthy lay-off during the summer weeks the U14s returned to action against Limavady on Friday 12th. Played at Longfield on a blustery evening the Saffrons maintained their impressive league form. With Lachlan Murray in sparkling form, scoring 2-2 in the opening minutes, Desertmartin established a firm grip on the game. Limavady then opened their account with a well taken point only to be rocked back on their heels by three Desertmartin goals, one from Martin Mackle and two from Fearghal Bradley. Refusing to be overwhelmed the Wolfhounds replied with three points but further points by Martin Mackle and Conor Shields gave the Saffrons a 5-4 to 0-4 half-time lead.

Martin Mackle impressive throughout scored 1-1 shortly after the restart. Working hard to have an impact Limavady struck for their first goal. But the home -side refused to relinquish their superiority and added further points from Fearghal Bradley, Lachlan Murray and Martin Mackle. With time running out Limavady scored a second goal before Martin Mackle brought proceedings to an end with a late point giving Desertmartin a 7-9 to 2-4 victory.
